U.S. President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump walk off the stage after a rally at the Covelli Centre on July 25, 2017 in Youngstown, Ohio.

Promoting her new book, Raising Trump, President Donald Trump’s first wife, Ivana, referred to herself as the real “first lady” while appearing on Good Morning America.

In true Trump fashion, First Lady Melania Trump did not take kindly to the remark and fired back with a statement from her office.

Ivana told GMA that she speaks with her first husband “about once every 14 days.”

“I have the direct number to White House, but I [don’t] really want to call him there because Melania is there,” said Ivana. “I don’t want to cause any kind of jealousy or something like that because I’m basically first Trump wife.”

“I’m first lady, okay?” she added, giving off a laugh.

In a statement provided by the first lady’s communications director, Stephanie Grisham, team Melania blasted “attention-seeking” Ivana for her comment, which they said has “no substance.”

“This is unfortunately only attention-seeking and self-serving noise,” blasted Grisham.

“Mrs. Trump has made the White House a home for Barron and the President. She loves living in Washington, D.C. and is honored by her role as First Lady of the United States,” the communications director continued. “She plans to use her title and role to help children, not sell books.”

Ivana also told GMA that she often tells President Trump to be more selective with his speech: “Sometimes I tell him to just not to speak that much, okay?” she said.

She did take Trump’s side on calling people “losers,” though.

“I think they sometimes call people losers. If they are losers, they are losers, okay?” said Ivana.

Hitting up CBS’s Sunday Morning, Ivana claimed that she still gives President Trump advice, and even told him that tweeting is a good idea to “get your message out.”

The bluntly-spoken Ivana added that Donald would not be who he is now had she not been in the picture:

“He wouldn’t be who he is without you?” asked Sunday Morning correspondent Jim Axelrod.

“That’s for sure,” replied Ivana.
