President Trump Retracts UN Funding, Gives It to Christian-Based Groups Helping Persecuted Christians Abroad

On Wednesday night, Vice President Mike Pence held a speech, in which he announced that President Trump’s Cabinet “will no longer rely” on the United Nations alone when it comes to help-funding Christians facing persecution over in the Middle East.

Pence made the announcement at the In Defense of Christians’ yearly  Solidarity Dinner for Christians in the Middle East Gala. As assessed, so far, the Obama administration gave the task of sending $1 billion as humanitarian aid to the Middle East, to the UN alone.

“My friends, those days are over,” Pence said.

Instead of continuing into Obama’s footsteps, the humanitarian funding shall now be sent directly to faith-based organizations, which will do the distribution afterward.

“Our fellow Christians and all who are persecuted in the Middle East should not have to rely on multinational institutions when America can help them directly,” Pence said.

“From now on, the United States Agency for International Development will administer the relief,” Pence said.

“Tonight, it is my privilege to announce President Trump has ordered the State Department to stop funding ineffective relief efforts at the United Nations and from this day forward, America will provide support directly to persecuted communities through USAID,” he explained.

Pence’s speech was naturally welcomed with a round of applause.

“The United States will work hand-in-hand from this day forward with faith-based groups and private organizations to help those who are persecuted for their faith,” Pence said.

“This is the moment. Now is the time.”

“And America will support these people in their hour of need.”

Although the United Nations is one of the most effective organizations when it comes to distributing aid across the world, they lack effort when it comes to groups such as the Christian-based ones. Honestly speaking, they were never the UN’s priority.

So, why even bother leaving matters semi-handled in the hands of an organization that doesn’t have America’s best interest at heart?

This is a groundbreaking move, folks, and we all have VP Mike Pence and President Trump thank for keeping a reasonable head on their shoulders.
