Former disgraced DNC member Debbie Wasserman Schultz has been unable to get rid of guns following mass shootings. Now she has realized that if she can’t outlaw guns, maybe she can outlaw bullets. “You do not have the right to bear bullets,” she declared in a Florida conference.
“The Ammunition Background Check Act of 2018 that I filed on Thursday, and that is being filed in the United States Senate by Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut, will close that gaping loophole to require all buyers of ammunition to undergo an instant background check,” Wasserman Schultz said. How is buying bullets a ‘loophole?’
“Saturday [The March For Our Lives rally] was a launch pad. Anyone who thinks that was the end is sadly mistaken,” said Schultz. Schultz pointed out that there is no law preventing people from buying “as much ammunition as they want, without so much as being asked their first name, and walk out,” she said.
“I really think it’s important to underscore that without bullets a gun is just a hunk of useless metal, and a would-be killer lacks the means to actually kill or maim,” said Wasserman Schultz.
Richard Blumenthal also spoke out in support of this bill. “Without background checks on ammunition sales, there’s nothing to stop dangerous people – barred from buying guns – from amassing vast ammunition arsenals. This ludicrous loophole puts lives at risk,” tweeted Blumenthal. Check out the video below.
